Venus-Mercury Conjunction 21-22 May 2020

Thursday, May 21

The thin crescent of Venus was very well visible in the 7x50mm Fujinon binocular.
The  star Elnath /El Nath or Beta Tauri was visible to the East of the two planets .

When Mercury was going to set, it took a strange but spectacular  redish hue.

Friday ,May 22

On both ocasions, Mercury was well visible with naked eyes.
The thin crescent of Venus was again visible in the 7x50mm binocular , Friday evening.
Even more, I was able to see the Venusian crescent with my Keplerian 9x15mm singlet refractor.

Lunar X and Lunar V ,crepuscular rays and planetary conjunctions

On June 20 I observed the ''Lunar X'' and ''Lunar V''  using my ''zoth'' 90x600mm refractor.

My ''zoth''  90x600 mm refractor

Visual observations were made at 60x/ Plossl 10mm  and 100x / BCO 6mm.
The pics were taken in the afocal mode at 60 x with the Coolpix S3300 camera.
This is my second ''LunarX-Lunar V'' observation of  this ''light and shadow'' show of the Moon.

On July 14 I was preparing this Summer wine.

Above , on the sky it were visible for a long while spectacular crepuscular rays.

On the evening of July 15 the planet Venus was close to the Moon while Lady Luna was in conjuction with the star Regulus.
The Ashen Light was well visible on the Moon.

On July 20 the Moon was in conjunction with the planet Jupiter.

All pics , excepting those of Lunar X- V , were taken with a Nikon Coolpix S3300 compact camera set on an all-metal old Velbon tripod.

Mercur , in centrul imaginii , imediat deasupra norilor.

Moon , Mars and Venus at start of 2017

MOON, MARS AND VENUS AT START OF 2017

On January 2 the Moon ,Mars and Venus were visible at South-West in the evening hours.

The Moon was that night three days old.

Of course ,the jets were doing their job leaving criss-crossing contrails  all over the sky.

Venus is seen at right ,the Moon with ashen light in the middle
 and ruddy Mars at left.

Only the Moon and Venus.

All pics taken with the Nikon Coolpix S3300 compact camera

All visual observations were made with naked eyes and the Fujinon Mariner 7x50mm WPC-XL binocular.

All pictures were taken  with Nikon  Coolpix S3300 compact camera mounted on modified Velbon tripod.

The observations were suggested by  the weekly articles  ''This Week's Sky at a Glance'' of "Sky&Telescope'' :
